THE SONS 'TAKE A WALK...'
Welcome to makaha!: Makaha Sons Jerome Koko, left, and Louis "Moon" Kauakahi welcomed Robi Kahakalau, Fiji and Fiji's daughter Viniana to their "Take a Walk in the Country" concert at the Makaha Resort Golf Club on Saturday. Kahakalau and Fiji were two of the guests who sat in with the Sons during a three-hour performance. Fiji rocked it with soulful Polynesian and Top 40 songs and backed Sean Na'auao on "Fish & Poi."

A great hawaiian concert: Darlene Ahuna caught up with Horace Dudoit, of Ho'okena, backstage. Ho'okena featured hulas by Nani Dudoit and Manu Boyd as they capped the first half of the event with a great performance. Kanilau, Pai'ea and Kilinahe also had strong sets. The Sons closed the night with "Hawai'i '78" at 11 p.m.

Right on, raiatea!: Raiatea Helm's minidress was a hot splash of color as she waited backstage with, front row left, Kamaile Sniffen, Meghan Bridges Steffen and Lewalani Duarte and, standing, Tania Vares, left, Christina Dobson and Danette Kepa, of Hula Halau 'O Kawaili'ula. Helm's "Kalama'ula" with the Sons was a highlight.
