The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Cyanotech tops index
Cyanotech Corp., which matched a nine-month high Thursday, ended this week up 50 percent to lead 11 other stocks in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. The Kona nutraceutical company is now up an index-leading 57.5 percent for the year after closing at 63 cents yesterday, 5 cents off of Thursday's high.
Hawaiian Airlines' parent continued moving in the opposite direction as it nose-dived 41.8 percent to 39 cents. Hawaiian Holdings Inc., which hit a 52-week intraday low of 29 cents yesterday before rebounding, is the worst performer in the index with a negative 80.9 percent return.
