Louise Cancel Becera, 88, of Kailua, a retired Tripler Army Medical Center nurse, died last Thursday. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sons Joseph Jr. and Frederick, daughter Kathleen Dijos, brother Christopher Cancel, sisters Frances Angelica and Rose Graham, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Arthur Chong Kee, 78, of Kahului, a retired Kahului Trucking and Storage electrician, died Monday in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Paia, Maui. He is survived by sons Roy and Ricky; daughter Joanna; brothers Eddie, Lawrence "Tiki," Kenneth and Ronald "JoJo"; sisters Mable Leong and Berniece Mau; and a grandchild. Yuen Sek "Wallace" Chun, 80, of Kaneohe, a Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Dillingham Shipyard marine electrician, died last Thursday in Kaneohe. He was born in Canton, China. He is survived by wife Annie; sons Douglas and Darrell; daughters Beverly Ann Mercado, Debralee Cacatian and Susan Yost; brothers Walter, Joseph, Alfred, Samuel and Francis Ching; sisters Florence Kam, Shirley Young and Eleanor Lau; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Francisco Ponce Lafita Sr., 100, of Hilo, a retired owner of the former Kababayan Store in Hilo and a Castle Medical Center employee, died May 31 in Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. He was born in Calumpit, Bulacan, the Philippines. He is survived by wife Felicia, son Frank Jr., brother Albert Batalia, a grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Noboru "Pin Head" Shimabuku, 82, of Keaau, Hawaii, a retired Puna Sugar Co. office clerk, died Friday. He was born in Olaa, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Yaeko; daughters Olga Hayashi, Dale Nakayama, Velma Adviento and Lynn Ancheta; sister Asako Nakamura; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
