"The Electric Kitchen" airing in the first half of June features Wayne Hirabayashi and Joshua Nudd of the Kahala Mandarin Oriental with "Father's Day with Hoku's."

"Electric Kitchen" airs at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, 8 p.m. Monday, 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Oceanic Cable Channel 16.

Chocolate Mac-Nut Brownie Sundae

1 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 large ripe banana, cut into 1/4-inch diagonal slices
1/4 cup banana or orange flavored liqueur or dark rum
2 chocolate macadamia nut brownies or your favorite cake or cookies
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
1 scoop chocolate ice cream
1 scoop strawberry ice cream
2 tablespoons chocolate sauce
2 tablespoons strawberry sauce (see note)
1 tablespoon EACH chopped macadamia nuts and almonds, toasted
1 heaping tablespoon whipped cream
Mint sprig and cherry, for garnish
Assorted seasonal berries and fruits, for garnish

In a small skillet, melt butter and sugar; cook slowly until it turns light brown and starts to caramelize. Add banana slices and cook 1 minute. Add liqueur; cook another 2 minutes.

Place brownies on a plate and spoon bananas over the top; reserving the caramelized sauce in the pan. Place the 3 scoops of ice cream over the bananas and brownies. Spoon chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce and 2 tablespoons of the reserved caramelized sauce over ice cream. Garnish with nuts, whipped cream, mint sprig, cherry and fresh fruits. Makes 1 large serving.

Note: To make strawberry sauce, put fresh berries in a blender with a little sugar and orange juice; purée until thick. Strain.
