C&K 30TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

art
A C&K PARTY: Toby Martyn, back row, left, Cherie Tanaka, "Big Beer Dave" Randall and KITV News anchor Jill Kuramoto enjoyed Cecilio & Kapono's 30th Anniversary Concert in the VIP area with Lovey, front row, left, "Kaneohe Hawaiian Kine" and "Stormin'" Norman. C&K kept their first concert set short and tight at Kapono's on Friday but stretched out during the late show.

GREAT SHOW, HENRY!: Jennifer Perri congratulated Henry Kapono as he was leaving the stage after the one-hour-40-minute late set that ended around 1 a.m. Saturday. C&K played part of the second set sitting down, Cecilio explained, because that's how they performed at Rainbow Villa in 1973.

KALAPANA ROCKS IT! : Gaylord Holomalia, third from left, caught up with Jennifer Perri backstage after Kalapana opened for C&K (he and Perri had worked together on a Japanese recording). Kalapana -- D.J. Pratt, left, Kenji Sano, Holomalia and Malani Bilyeu -- closed a tight, 45-minute set with a particularly intense version of "Naturally" that Bilyeu dedicated to the late Mackey Feary.
