Festivities honoring King Kamehameha continued yesterday with a parade through the streets of Honolulu and Waikiki. Above, the pau rider princess of Kahoolawe waved to the crowd.

Members of the royal court rode on one of the parade's two floats. In results announced after the parade, Maui took first-place honors among pau units, Lu Ann Barorito of Maui was named outstanding pau princess and the most outstanding unit award went to the Hawaii pau unit.

National NeighborWorks Week was celebrated yesterday in Chinatown as residents, merchants and volunteers divided into teams to clean, repaint and landscape the area. Rosie Barnhart helped 2-year-old Chut Phet "feed" the lion during the lion's dance.
