‘Wildest Show’ brings
comedy to Honolulu Zoo

The AT&T Wildest Show in Town returns to the Honolulu Zoo this summer, with a wider range of entertainment that will include comedy, theater and dance in addition to the musical acts of past years.

The annual twilight series begins tomorrow, running every Wednesday through Aug. 27.

Other summer delights and plate lunches will be available for purchase. Hands-on activities for the family will include Zoo Trivia, a keiki coloring contest and half-hour guided zoo tours.

Zoo gates will open at 4:35 p.m., with the hour-long shows starting at 6 on the stage lawn. A $1 donation per attendee will benefit the endangered io, or Hawaiian hawk.

The Honolulu Zoo is planning to open Kipuka Nene, a Hawaiian dry-land forest exhibit, in July, which will include a habitat for the pair of hawks being offered by the Louisville Zoo.

Performers scheduled are:

Tomorrow: Kapena
June 11: Lisa Matsumoto's children's play "Peril in Paradise"
June 18: Herb Ohta Jr.
June 25: Frank De Lima and the ZAPP Dancers of Eugene, Ore.
July 2: Marine Force Pacific Band
July 9: Kilinahe
