Army spouses train with their mates in special
demonstrations at Schofield Barracks

The day began at 6:30 a.m. for the spouses as they did physical training with the unit. They also observed demonstrations and learned how to camouflage their faces and wear Army equipment as they worked side by side with the soldiers. Wives gathered around a mine-clearing demonstration.

Opening ceremonies for the Hawaii Special Olympics' 35th annual summer games were held yesterday at Les Murakami Stadium. Participants included students from Waiakea High School in Hilo, carrying their team banner during the parade into the stadium. They were Eleeboy Umayas; his mom, Flordeliza Dela Rosa; Christopher Tadaki; and his mom, Lorna Tadaki.
