Bonsai plant sale
Pacific Bonsai Club will showcase beautiful bonsai during its annual plant sale 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 8 at Noelani Elementary School cafeteria, 2655 Woodlawn Drive in Manoa.

Growing orchids
Pick up orchid growing tips from an expert when Randy Tajima, owner of Mid Pacific Orchids, conducts a workshop June 7 at Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden.
The 9:30 a.m.-noon class covers basics for beginners on growing honohono orchids, including propagation, watering and fertilization.
Cost is $20 for nonmembers registering before next Friday, or $25 the day of the class. Members pay $18, $23 after next Friday. To register, call 537-1708.

Gear up for the following free how-to clinics held at Home Depot in June:
Tuesdays: Landscape lighting, 7 p.m.; Thursdays: Vinyl replacement windows, 7 p.m.; Saturdays: Ceramic tile, 10 a.m.; turn your home into a home safety zone, 2 p.m.; Sundays: Faux paint techniques, 7 p.m.
