Stuffs
[ PREVIEW ]
A preview of movies opening this weekend:
"Bruce Almighty" >> Jim Carrey returns to his popular comedic form as Bruce Nolan, a "human interest" reporter for a local Buffalo, New York, TV news show who's made temporarily all-powerful when God (Morgan Freeman) responds to Nolan's ridicule and rage at Him by challenging Nolan to see if he can do any better by giving him His powers. Carrey is back in his comfort zone with "Ace Ventura" cronies, director Tom Shadyac and screenwriter Steve Oedekerk. Jennifer Aniston plays Nolan's long-suffering girlfriend. (PG-13)
"The In-Laws" >> While the title is the same as the 1979 Peter Falk-Alan Arkin cult comedy, this new movie with Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks isn't a remake. This broad comedy is about a mild-mannered podiatrist (Brooks) who is unwittingly brought undercover to France with a daredevil CIA agent (Douglas), who's also his newlywed daughter's father-in-law. (PG-13)
