Cuddles went all around yesterday as 9-year-old Aryele Ufano held 6-week-old puppy, Makana, and her cousin Kanoa Ania, 11, held her 23-month-old sister, Ashlyn. The Ufanos were visiting Kanoa's house in Whitmore Village for a barbecue.

FESTIVAL CELEBRATES ISRAEL'S INDEPENDENCE

The Israel Independence Day festival held yesterday at Skygate Park at the Honolulu Civic Center celebrated the 55th anniversary of the nation's creation. Giovanna Neuman played a tambourine to the music of the Sunlight Orchestra, which played Israeli music at the event. Below, many people took part in traditional circle dancing.
