From staff and wire reports
TOKYO >> Yokozuna Asashoryu defeated Kyokutenho (2-2) today to improve to 4-0 and remain tied for first place at the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament.
Ozeki Dejima beat Kotomitsuki (0-4) to also remain perfect.
Meanwhile, Aminishiki and Takamisakari picked up their first losses to fall out of a tie for first place.
Tomorrow Dejima takes on Tamanoshima (2-2), while Asashoryu takes on Takanonami (1-3).
Yokozuna Musashimaru, or Hawaii's Fiamalu Penitani, has yet to recover from surgery on his left wrist and is absent for the fourth straight meet. So Chiyotaikai represents the main threat to Asashoryu at the summer basho.
