The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Hawaiian Holdings Inc., continuing to rebound after subsidiary Hawaiian Airlines filed for Chapter 11 reorganization bankruptcy, soared 25.9 percent this week to top 11 other companies in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. The stock, which fell to as low as 36 cents after it resumed trading April 15, closed yesterday at $1.02.City Bank parent CB Bancshares Inc., target of a hostile merger attempt from Central Pacific Financial Corp., gained 2.7 percent to $68.59, just off the $68.83 all-time high it hit Thursday.
