slated for next weekHILO >> The Annual University of Hawaii-Hilo All-Sports Awards Banquet is set for Thursday, May 1, with dinner and a program on the agenda.
Male and Female Athletes and Academic Athletes of the Year and the Ramon Goya Team of the Year will be announced.
Reservations are being taken at the UHH athletic office at 974-7520.
Hawaii team 2nd at Mary Cave Cup
EL CAJON, Calif. >> Hawaii's team of Dale Gammie and Kelly Nakashima placed second April 13 at the Mary Cave Cup girls junior golf tournament.The Hawaii team shot 66-68--134, two strokes behind Northern California. Gammie placed second in the individual standings as well, while Nakashima cracked the top 10 at eighth place.

The Hawaii High School Athletic Association is holding state tournaments for spring sports in May:>> Carlsmith Ball Boys and Girls State Tennis Championships, May 8-10, at Central Oahu Regional Park.
>> David S. Ishii Girls State Golf Championships, May 9-10, at the Waikoloa Beach Course on the Big Island.
>> Island Movers State Boys and Girls Track and Field Championships, May 10, at Kamehameha Schools.
>> Hawaiian Airlines Girls State Basketball Championships, May 13-16, at Stan Sheriff Center.
>> Wally Yonamine Foundation State Baseball Championships, May 14-17, at Iron Maehara Stadium on Maui.
>> David S. Ishii Boys State Golf Championships, May 16-17, at the Waikoloa King's Course.
>> HHSAA State Judo Championships, May 17, at McKinley High School gym.
