Jose "Joe" Alves Jr., 73, of Honolulu, a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, died Saturday. He was born in New Jersey. He is survived by wife June, sons Joe and Nick, daughter Julie, brother Tony, sister Mary Blaha and three grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. tomorrow at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Private scattering of ashes to be held at a later date.

Marion Amigone, 76, of Kaneohe, a retired Pohai Nani nurse, died April 12 in Castle Medical Center. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y. She is survived by son Bill and sister Lorraine Glow. Buenaventura "Ben" Rubianes Argel, 87, of Aiea, a retired RMT Corp. employee, died April 6 at home. He was born in San Sebastian, San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, the Philippines. He is survived by wife Teofila "Fely," daughter Josefina "Josie" A.T., sister Marciana Rueria, 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Jonah Kai Bastian, infant son of Kelly and Quinn Bastian, of Mililani, died Monday at home. He was born in Tripler Army Medical Center. He is also survived by brother Carter and sister Taylor. Rustico Agustin Duropan, 65, of Waianae, a retired Makaha Surfside employee, died April 13 in St. Francis-West Medical Center. He was born in Banna, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines. He is survived by wife Mercedes D.; son Edgar; daughter Mila Tadena; brothers Reynaldo, Ambrose, Vic and Rudy; sisters Crispina Pascual and Fredista Manuel; and two grandchildren. Robert Feldman, 73, of Kailua-Kona, died April 12 in Kona Community Hospital. Services canceled; to be rescheduled in May. The mortuary provided additional information for an obituary published yesterday.

Nicole U'i Makanahiwahiwaki'imailani Fernandez, infant daughter of Theresa and Daniel Fernandez Jr., of Wailuku, died Monday in Maui Memorial Medical Center. Matilda Correa Fontes, 87, of Hilo, a retired Kaumana Senior Center cooking instructor, died Monday in Life Care Center of Hilo. She was born in Honomu, Hawaii. She is survived by sons Kenneth R., Eric J. and Silas; daughter Jeanette M. Cortez; brothers Frank, Herman and Algin Correa; sisters Margie Tubbs and Hilda DeCosta; 19 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Hisao Iwami, 78, of Honolulu, a retired state tax auditor, died April 16 in Straub Clinic & Hospital. He was born in Wailuku. The Rev. Donald M. Macgregor, 64, of Makawao, Maui, an associate and pastor for St. Michael's Church in Kona and a chaplain for several fire departments in New York, died April 12 at home.
