Jackson’s shot at the buzzer
lifts Sabers over Mules

Star-Bulletin staff

Chaunte Jackson drove in for an uncontested layup that fell through at the buzzer as Campbell beat Leilehua 40-38 in a wild finish last night in an Oahu Interscholastic Association game.

The game was tied at 38 with about 10 seconds left when Campbell threw the ball away attempting a long inbounds pass. Leilehua inbounded at half court, and Laree Rodriguez's shot attempt was short.

Campbell's Jamie Kua pulled down her 18th rebound of the game and got the ball out to Jacqueline Mendes, who threw the pass to Jackson, who was streaking down the court.

Mendes led the Sabers with 16 points and Kua finished with eight points and four blocks.
