Playoff volleyball
tickets now on sale


Tickets for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball playoffs went on sale this week, and are currently available at the Stan Sheriff Center or via TicketMaster.

UH season ticket holders may pick up their MPSF first-round tickets at the SSC. Defending national champion Hawaii takes its 13-match win streak into the MPSF tournament against fourth-ranked Pacific. Hawaii hosts the Tigers on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The highest remaining seed will host the final four.

Wahine golfers 12th at Barnard tourney

STANFORD, Calif. >> Bobbie Arakawa shot 86-80--166 to tie for 51st and lead Hawaii to a 12th-place team finish at the Peg Barnard Collegiate golf tournament Sunday.

Tara Chappell and Brooke Jackson were one and two strokes off the team lead, respectively.

The Wahine host the season-ending Western Athletic Conference championships April 21-23 at the Kapolei Golf Course.

Sing Chow shuts out Azusa Pacific in split

HILO >> UH-Hilo's Leo Sing Chow limited Azusa Pacific to four hits with five strikeouts in the first game of a doubleheader yesterday even though her team only gave her four hits.

The Vulcans (24-13) won the opener 1-0 while the Cougars (35-15) won the second game 6-3. The teams continue the series with a noon doubleheader today.

Diana Kim and Leinani Hashida paired hits for the Vulcans in the second game.
