Meritage to host wine classes
Yes, Tuesday is tax day, but the 24-hour period doesn't have to be a total disappointment. All you'll need to curb the whining is a little wine. And food.
Kapiolani Community College, Meritage restaurant and Better Brands launch a partnership in wine education, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Mark Gmur, area manager of Better Brands, will handle the wine appreciation instruction, and chef Mariano Lalica will handle the food.
Tuesday's topic is "White Wine: Old World vs. New."
Cost is $28. Call 734-9211. Programs coming up:
April 29: Red Wine: Old World vs. New World
May 13: Around the World with 12 Grapes
May 27: Champagne and Sparkling Wines
June 10: Dessert Wines and Port
