A REVOLUTION is coming: Tickets still are available for Saturday's performance by comedian Margaret Cho. After performing at the Hawaii Theatre in 2000 and the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall in 2001, promoter Tom Moffatt recognized Cho's popularity among local residents and booked her "Revolution" tour at the Waikiki Shell. (See Page D1 for an interview with the comedian.)
Cho has been pretty successful over the past four years with her "I'm the One That I Want" and "Notorious C.H.O." tours; the former was also turned into a best-selling book and an independent film. It's been quite a comeback for the 34-year-old, who battled drugs and alcohol following the cancellation of her television show "All-American Girl" in 1995.
Tickets for Saturday's "Revolution" tour stop range in price from $25 to $45 and are available at all the usual places. Unless you need to be up close and personal with the comedian during her performance, the $25 lawn seats are your best bet. Call 526-4400 to order by phone ...
I DON'T KNOW why he would put himself through it, but professional soccer player Ethan Zohn managed to outwit, outplay and outlast 15 other people to win "Survivor: Africa" last fall. He went home with the million-dollar grand prize after spending 39 days in Kenya's Shaba National Reserve.
On Saturday, Zohn will be on hand to help with the grand opening of Hula Motion, a new store in Waikiki's Continental Surf Hotel. Hula Motion owner Al "Marlon" Eugenio is a friend of Zohn's from his days as a goalkeeper for the Hawaii Tsunami in 1997.
Zohn will be on hand to take pictures and sign autographs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Call 923-1455 for more info ...
