Fishermen must have a valid Hawaii freshwater game fishing license and entry fishing card.
The reservoir will be open on consecutive weekends until all who have assigned fishing times have been accommodated. Entry will be limited to those with appropriate cards only during the assigned dates and times. No make-up periods or refunds will be allowed.
Applications are available at the Department of Land and Natural Resources' visitor center/permit counter at 1151 Punchbowl St., Room 130, and from various licensing agents. Call 587-0108 for location of licensing agents. A drawing will be held to assign each cardholder a date and time.
Children 8 years and younger do not need to be licensed, but must be accompanied by a licensed adult. Cardholders 15 and younger must be supervised by an adult.
License prices are:
>> Minors 9-15 years: $3The bag limit is two channel catfish for each licensee. Any catfish 16 inches and longer must be counted toward the bag limit. Any caught by a child 8 years and younger must be included in the supervising adult's limit.
>> Residents: $5
>> Non-residents: $25
>> 7-day tourists: $10
>> 30-day tourists: $20
>> Senior citizens 65 years and older: freeChildren may purchase licenses, which would allow them to have their own bag limit.
