>> Island Insurance Cos. has hired Helen C. Mao as a commercial insurance division senior underwriter. She will be responsible for the selection, pricing and sale of commercial risk insurance.>> Persis Corp. has hired Jennifer Chun as director of business development. She will manage client consulting projects, develop new business and assist company partner Persis Asset Advisors with real estate support. She was most recently a senior consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
>> Watanabe Chun Iopa & Takaki Architecture has hired Larry Cunha and Lois Ajifu. Cunha has been with Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo for 13 years, most recently as project manager on Hilton Grand Vacation Club at Hilton Hawaiian Village.
>> Meadow Gold Dairies Hawaii has hired Henry Lee as sales manager. He is responsible for managing the distribution of goods imported through Meadow Gold, as well as the sale of milk and ice cream products. Lee has 32 years of experience in the food service industry, most recently as director of general merchandise, health and beauty care, and pharmacy operations for Foodland Supermarket Ltd.
>> Michael Turner has been named document technology analyst at Xerox Hawaii. He will be responsible for providing technical expertise to clients. Turner worked for Xerox in 1997 before leaving to manage accounts at National Computer Systems and Automatic Data Processing.
>> Classic Resorts has hired Kathleen Amendola as leisure sales manager for all properties. She has more than 20 years of experience in travel industry sales. Amendola is responsible for the non-group U.S. market, including wholesaler and travel agent partnerships. Classic Resorts is a Hawaii-based resort management company.
>> Tricia Medeiros has been hired as executive director of the Plaza at Punchbowl retirement rental units. She will oversee all operations at the entire six-story, 94,000-square-foot building when it opens in December. Medeiros has more than seven years of experience in administration, most recently at Genesis Health Ventures in Kennett Square, Pa., an elder care service provider. The Plaza at Punchbowl is a joint development by Sound Health Hawaii LLC and MW Group Ltd., a local property developer and manager.
>> NetEnterprise has hired Jeff Ballard as vice president of sales and marketing. He has 16 years of experience in high-tech marketing, most recently with Satellite Marketing, a firm he founded four years ago. NetEnterprise is an information technology company.
>> Summit Lending of Hawaii has hired Jennifer Gaura as a loan officer in the retail sales division. She was most recently an insurance investigator at Progressive Insurance. Tammy Namihira was named finance assistant supporting the finance manager and other personnel in the secondary marketing and accounting division. She most recently worked at First American Title (Long & Melone Ltd.) as its escrow officer. Summit Lending is a Hawaii-based mortgage bank.
>> Coldwell Banker Pacific has hired Julie Archambeau as a sales associate in its Kahala office. She was most recently a sales associate specializing in luxury real estate on Lanai. Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has five offices on Oahu and more than 400 sales associates.
Promotions
>> Bank of Hawaii has named Nathan J. Sult chief legal officer. Sult will manage the work of the bank's legal staff and its outside law firms, as well as continuing to provide legal services to various bank units, including the electronic banking, information technology, corporate sourcing and consumer deposits groups. He also serves on the bank's negotiating teams for large scale technology and outsourcing contracts. Sult joined the Bank of Hawaii in 1995 as vice president and senior counsel, then was promoted to senior vice president in December 2002.>> Michael P. Loo has been promoted to vice president of finance and administration at Kamehameha Schools. Loo has been with Kamehameha since 2001, most recently as controller. In his new post, he replaces Eric Yeaman, who left Kamehameha in January. Loo will be responsible for providing vision, leadership, planning and execution of operational support units, which include finance, human resources, information technology and facilities development and support.
>> Hershel Hood has been promoted to operations and maintenance manager at Atlantis Submarines in Kona. He joined the company in 1991 as a submarine co-pilot. He also served as a pilot, lead pilot, and most recently as an electronic systems specialist.
>> Willie Wu has been named general manager of the new Taco Bell and Pizza Hut Express restaurant at Ala Moana Shopping Center. Wu has been with restaurant operator TheoDavies Food Service Group since 1996, most recently as manager of the Taco Bell in Kailua. TheoDavies operates 86 Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan.
>> Castle Resorts & Hotels has promoted Dean Anderson to director of online marketing. He has been with the company for nearly two years as online marketing manager. Castle Resorts manages 20 hotels and condominiums in Hawaii, Saipan and New Zealand.
>> AIG Hawaii Insurance Company Inc. has promoted Lisa Halvorson and Doris Ohara to assistant vice presidents. Halvorson joined AIG Hawaii in 2001 as director of customer relationship management. She previously had worked at First Hawaiian Bank as public relations manager. Ohara, who serves as director of human resources and administration, has more than 20 years of human resources and administration management experience in the private and public sectors.
>> Finance Insurance Ltd. has hired Keith A. Finkboner as an independent producing agent, specializing in the professional and business owner market. He will sell life, disability and long term care insurance. Finkboner has more than 30 years experience in the insurance industry, most recently managing the Life Insuance Department for Marsh & McLennan.
