UH wins 2 at Hawaii Invitational

Hawaii won two games yesterday, defeating Wisconsin and Tokyo WCPE in the Hawaii Softball Invitational at Rainbow Wahine Stadium.

UH pounded out 15 hits against WCPE in an 11-2 win in which Stacey Porter and Kate Judd each had two hits and three RBIs. Porter and Judd both homered, and April Crowell went 4-for-4.

Shannon Tabion went all five innings for the win, striking out seven.

The Rainbow Wahine (16-11) then scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge Wisconsin (10-10) of the Big Ten. Melissa Coogan pitched the complete game, surrendering a single walk in her 13th win of the season.

Judd collected two hits against Wisconsin.

In other Hawaii Softball Invitational action, Pacific (17-11) outlasted No. 18 Ohio State (14-8) 1-0 and Wisconsin defeated Ohio State, also 1-0.
