PROJECT 808 CD RELEASE PARTY

IN FOR THE 808 THING: Turk Cazimero, left, was the event promoter, Fiji the celebrity emcee, and Michael Rabe was in the house for the Project 808 CD-Release Party at the Dole Cannery Ballroom on Saturday. Nightlife vets know Rabe for his work on trumpet with Natural High in the 1970s.

SWEET, GEE!: Kimo James got close to Gissele Tejada from Forté while she took a break from co-announcing the party. Gissele was dressed to impress and made it clear she's a self-contained solo attraction.

GREAT JOB, GIRLS: élan congratulated Shuga -- Sami, left, Honey and Coolade -- after their performance. The trio is better "live" than their debut CD-single would suggest; they're the most promising local pop "girl group" since Tenderoni. Project 808 star Aziel's set was another highlight.
