Jumonji, Kotoryu and Chiyotaikai all improved to 5-0.
Yokozuna Asashoryu, the only top-level wrestler participating in this tournament, defeated Tochinonada by sotogake (outside leg trip), to raise his mark to 4-1.
Tamanoshima and Hokutoriki also won today to improve to 4-1 and stay within reach of the leaders.
After winning the Emperor's Cup in two consecutive tournaments -- in November and January -- the 22-year-old Asashoryu, a Mongolian, was promoted to sumo's top rank earlier this year.
Musashimaru, or Hawaii's Fiamalu Penitani, is sitting out the tournament with a torn tendon in his left wrist that has been slow to heal.
