Star-Bulletin staffThe contract includes benefits and job-protection language similar to that agreed to last year at Sheraton, Hilton and Hyatt hotels in Waikiki, said Jason Ward, researcher for the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees union Local 5. The Ilikai has already enacted a wage increase.
The contract, which covers 320 workers, is retroactive to March 2002.
The union is still negotiating a new contract with the Ala Moana Hotel in Waikiki.
The 783-room Ilikai is managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts Inc., based in Washington, D.C.
