2002 leader CPB back on top of index
Central Pacific Bank parent CPB Inc., whose board voted Wednesday to seek a name change at the April 22 shareholders meeting, rose 3.6 percent this week to $28.50 to lead 11 other stocks in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index.
CPB's board wants to change the company's name to Central Pacific Financial Corp. to remake its image as more of a facilitator of financial transactions and also to bring the name more in line with the bank's new ticker symbol, CPF, on the New York Stock Exchange.
