Kai has been an All-Star in three sports in her decorated prep career. Kai led the Oahu Interscholastic Association with 15 goals this year after scoring 14 in her junior year.
Older sister Natasha Kai was the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year last year as a freshman for the Wahine.
Waves send Warriors to second road loss
The Hawaii men's tennis team lost its second in a row yesterday, falling to No. 21 Pepperdine 6-1.The Waves won the first four singles matches by sweeps, but Alexis Rafidson needed three sets to beat UH's Ryan Sceats.
Jarrod Diepraam beat Kevin Borzenski 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 for Hawaii's only point. The Warriors lost in doubles 2-1.
Wahine to host USC in spring exhibition
The Hawaii women's volleyball team will take on Southern California in a spring exhibition, head coach Dave Shoji announced yesterday.The Rainbow Wahine will host the national champions at 7 p.m. March 18.
Tickets will go on sale Tuesday at the UH ticket office . Ticket levels are $4, $6, $8 and $25 for courtside seats.
Punahou has 2 more players of the year
Punahou's Adria Campbell and Tomatoa Hackney were named Gatorade Hawaii High School Players of the Year yesterday. Punahou also took both awards last year.Campbell joins Romy Trigg-Smith, Natasha Kai and Robin deHay in the Gatorade Circle of Champions. Hackney joins Satoshi Mitsuda, Travis Watanabe and Andrew Brown.
