Crusaders closer
to state berth

Saint Louis held off Kamehameha 46-36 last night to close within a game of qualifying for the state tournament.

The Warriors (9-4) trailed by as many as 14 points, but closed the gap to 35-30 with two minutes left in the game.

The Crusaders (10-3) sealed the win by making 12 of 15 free throws in the fourth quarter.

Jonah Lakatani scored 10 of his game-high 18 points in the first half to help Saint Louis to a 24-13 halftime lead.

Saint Louis closes with Punahou and Kamehameha's final game is against Damien.

Iolani 76, Maryknoll 40: Bobby Nash and Todd Blankenship combined for 22 points as the Raiders held the Spartans scoreless in the first quarter.

Iolani led 19-0 after a period, and 36-12 at halftime.

The Raiders have already clinched their third consecutive ILH championship. They have won 27 league games in a row and are a victory away from a second straight perfect ILH season.

Damien 52 University 47: Trailing 50-36 with less than three minutes remaining, the Junior Bows rolled off 11 straight points to cut the Monarch lead to three at 50-47. The Monarchs converted two free throws and held on to win.

The league's top scorer, Ranson DeCosta of Damien, scored a game-high 20 points.
