Enjoy some bubbly
on Valentine’s Day

Sweet, bubbly, fresh, clear and elegant. These words could describe both your Valentine and the perfect wine for Valentine's Day. Moscato d'asti might not be a household name, but it is a special wine everyone falls in love with -- at first sip!

This wine comes from northern Italy's Piedmonte region, which reputedly also produces great lovers. Moscato d'asti is typically low in alcohol (5.5 percent) compared to most wines (12 percent and higher), has the fragrance of honeysuckle blossoms and tastes like sweet pears with absolutely no hint of bitterness.

People who say they don't like wine are instantly struck by Cupid's arrow when they try their first sip of Saracco Moscato d'Asti ($13.99). Don't miss this lovely wine on Valentine's Day. Who knows, this may be your most romantic Valentine's ever!

More traditional to the theme of Valentine's Day are pink wines. Pommery Champagne Brut Rosé ($35.99) is as beautiful to look at as it is to drink. A pale hue with hints of orange. Bready, toasty and lightly red-fruited aromas. Dry and austere with a medium-bodied palate and a rounded mouthfeel. Finishes in a dry and austere manner. A food-friendly rosé but not for those who like things softer and fruitier.

How about a peach flavored sparkler from France? You'll love the hints of sweetness in Simple Peche ($9.49). This bubbly is meant to be fun, spontaneous and unpretentious; sort of like a first love.
