Mililani moves into final
with 2-0 win over Castle

Miki Asamura's kills opponents slowly, registering out after out until the game is over.

Charity Senas prefers to win games for Mililani all at once.

Senas hit a solo home run in the third inning -- her second home run in as many days -- to help the Trojans to a 2-0 win over Castle and a spot in the Oahu Interscholatic Association's title game. Senas also doubled to make Asamura's four-hitter stand up and give the Trojans their 62nd straight league victory.

Asamura gave herself enough of a lead to win before Senas' blast, smacking a base hit to left field to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead before she even had to approach the circle. The only Knight to threaten Asamura was Thiffany Anguay-Kalau, who got her twice, once for a triple.

The Trojans will have to wait a day to find out who they play in the OIA Championship because the other semifinal was rained out.

Kailua and Leilehua will play at Kailua today at 3:30 p.m. The championship is set for tomorrow after the 1 p.m. consolation championship.

Pearl City 4, Waianae 3: The Chargers came up with four runs in the top of the seventh to steal a win from the Seariders and earn a spot in the OIA's fifth-place game.

Waianae led 3-0 going into the final inning, but Krystal Plunkett solved Tracy Kane with a solo blast to lead off the seventh. The Chargers then jumped on Kane with a pair of singles but appeared to run out of steam when the next two batters failed to move them over.

Kristin Lai walked to load the bases and get the momentum back, though, before Kanani Numata drilled a solid line drive into left field to plate two runs without a play from the left fielder, who was playing deep. Lai scored on an error on the next play to give the Chargers the edge.

Corie Nishikida walked Kane to lead off the bottom of the inning but struck out the next two batters and forced Hannah Smith to pop out to Lai at first base. The Chargers will play at Kapolei for fifth place today at 3:30 p.m.

Kapolei 5, Moanalua 2: Austi Paris doubled in three runs in the fifth inning to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead and lead the Hurricanes into the fifth-place game against Pearl City.

Tajia Acierto went 3-for-4, Malama Manuma went 2-for-3 and Valana Manuma went 1-for-2 in front of Paris. Acierto threw 103 pitches and gave up only five hits to earn the win. Kandyce Love started the game for the Menehunes but only lasted six batters before Mika Tanji took over and gave up four runs over five innings.
