Mililani, Pearl City advance
to OIA boys title match

Defending state champion Mililani blanked Castle 2-0 last night in an Oahu Interscholastic Association soccer semifinal.

The host Trojans (10-0-1) move on to play Pearl City in the the OIA final Saturday night at 7:30 at the Chargers' home field.

Nathan Amous and Justin Kim scored for Mililani in the victory.

Castle (8-2-2) hosts Roosevelt tomorrow night in a 5:15 consolation game.

Pearl City 4, Roosevelt 0: The Chargers calmed down the previously hot Rough Riders.

Roosevelt had beaten Waianae and Kaiser for the right to play Pearl City in the quarterfinals.

Keone Peiper scored twice for the Chargers, while Kenshiro Uki and Wesley Armacost also scored for the winners.

Pearl City (9-1-1) advanced to the title game.

Roosevelt dropped to 8-4-1.



OIA GIRLS

Leilehua 1, Kaiser 0: Kelly Wert had the only goal as the Mules beat the Cougars in a consolation semifinal.

Leilehua (8-4-1) plays Kalaheo for fifth place and a berth in the state tournament tomorrow at 7 p.m at Kailua.

Kalaheo 4 Castle 1: Tina Garcia netted three goals for the Mustangs in the victory, while Brandi Benson added one.

Lindsey Watanabe had Castle's only goal.

Kalaheo (8-2-3) needs one more victory to qualify for the states.

The Knights finished their season at 7-3-3.
