station in Los AngelesQuestion: What ever happened to television sports reporter Rob Fukuzaki?
Answer: The 36-year-old Fukuzaki, who used to work for KITV in Honolulu, is the weekday sports anchor for ABC7's "Eyewitness News" in Los Angeles. He also is the host during the football season for the station's "Monday Night Live" show.
When he joined the station in 1994, Fukuzaki became the first male Japanese-American television anchor in Los Angeles.
Born in Torrance, Calif., he grew up in Honolulu where his family relocated when he was 3 years old. He graduated from Mid-Pacific Institute in 1984, then earned a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of La Verne in Southern California in 1988.

In 1989, Fukuzaki began sports reporting part time for KITV in Honolulu. By early 1990 he was the station's weekday sports reporter and weekend anchor. He also had his own sports segment, "Fuk's Follies," which highlighted the lighter side of sports, with bloopers and video clips.
During his stay at KITV, he won a Sports Emmy Award for a special on sumo wrestling.
