Star-Bulletin staff

It was a good day for the Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division, as three girls soccer teams qualified for the state tournament yesterday.

Defending state and league champion Mililani, Aiea and Pearl City each won in the quarterfinals of the OIA tournament, along with Kahuku.

Those four teams, plus a fifth team, will represent the OIA at states next month. The tournament is Feb. 19-22 at Maui's War Memorial Stadium.

The OIA tournament semifinals are Tuesday, with the final scheduled for Feb. 8. Pearl City and Aiea meet at Mililani at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, and Mililani and Kahuku play in the other semifinal at 7 p.m.

Yesterday's losing teams will play off for the final OIA spot. Kaiser plays Leilehua and Castle faces Kalaheo next Wednesday.

Last night, the Trojans rolled past Castle 5-0, as Liane Tom scored three times. Randene Ako scored as Aiea beat Kaiser 1-0.

Kari Tanimoto and Kimberly Unten each scored two goals for Pearl City, which cruised past Leilehua 5-0.

In the final game, Kahuku outlasted Kalaheo 4-3, behind a pair of goals from Tiana Ahue.

Mililani beat Kalaheo in last year's OIA tournament final.
