Geologist and videographer Jenda Johnson will begin the tour at the park's visitor center at 8:30 a.m.
Other speakers will be Don Swanson, head of the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, speaking on explosive eruptions; and observatory geologist Christina Heliker, describing the history of Puu Oo.
The tour will conclude with an "elegant lunch" at the Kilauea Lodge.
The price is $50 for nonmembers and $40 for members.
The "Friends" group is a nonprofit organization intended to publicize topics of interest in the park.
