[ THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS OF
HAWAIIAN LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE ]

art
Warrior fans Michael and Christie Epil send their aloha from Fort Worth, Texas. Their Mr. Hawaiian Snowie has iso peanuts for eyes, pineapple for a nose, li hing mui for buttons, chopsticks for arms and kamaboko for a mouth. They say the 40 of them -- who live in Fort Worth/Dallas and work for American Airlines -- fly back home to stock up on bits of Hawaii, such as laulau, kalua pig, lomi salmon and manapua.

"The Search for Signs of Hawaiian Life in the Universe" is just that: We're looking for evidence of Hawaiiana everywhere but Hawaii. Send snapshots and a description to TSFSOHLITU, Honolulu Star-Bulletin, 500 Ala Moana, Suite 7-210, Honolulu, HI 96813; or e-mail JPEGs or TIFFs to HiLife@starbulletin.com.
