That’s mighty
white of him
to point it out

DID ANYONE else notice, as sitcom writer/ director Ken Levine discovered, that on Martin Luther King Jr. Day so many stores featured "white sales"? ... Pals of games inventor and teacher Joli Kansil threw a 60th birthday party for him at L'Uraku the other night, and he proved either he still had a lot of life in him or he was a blowhard, because he extinguished the 60 candles on his cake with one mighty "whoosh." Other nearby diners, including one other rather large birthday gathering, were so impressed that they joined the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday." Designer Clarence Lee who designs U.S. Postal stamps and posters for each animal in the Chinese calendar, including his current "Year of the Ram" design, also came up with an "Operation GS Cookies" poster ...

COMIC Ralphie May, who's appeared on "Mohr Sports," "Comedy Central," "Spy TV" and more, guested on the Perry & Price show from the Hanohano Room Saturday to promote his appearance at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. One of the people he met there was KSSK promotions director Jamie Hartnett. So you can imagine his response of "such a small town" when he went to lunch at Dixie Grill on Ward Avenue and found the self-same Hartnett doing likewise ...

She's suing Cades Schutte and law firm partner Vito Galati for a host of things and according to her current lawyer, Philip R. Brown, "This case is strong and moving forward. April kept excellent records and the facts are well documented." Brown says that April delivered thousands of documents and correspondence pertinent to the suit, each of which had been organized, categorized and labeled, then put in order by date. Brown expects the depositions to take place within the next month ...
