Lee to face
another No. 1

Former Saint Louis wrestler Travis Lee of Cornell only wrestled in two of his six scheduled matches at the Cliff Keen NCWA National Duals at Columbus, Ohio, yesterday, winning both.

Lee won the two matches he competed in, beating Matt Stevens of Ohio 14-6 and Nick Simmons of Michigan State 6-3.

He forfeited Cornell's fifth- place match and three first round matches after hurting his knee. The Big Red finished sixth.

Lee was scheduled to wrestle Baldwin product Grant Nakamura but had to give him the points because of the injury.

Nakamura split in the matches he did wrestle, beating Bobbe Lowe of Minnesota 8-4 but losing to Bo Maynes of Oklahoma 7-5.

Lee, who is ranked second in the nation, was selected to represent Cornell in the Cape Cod Potato Chips NWCA All-Star Classic at the University of Delaware on Feb. 3. He will take on current No. 1 Chris Fleeger of Purdue, putting his 20-0 record up against Fleeger's also-perfect 15-0.

Fleeger, who is also a sophomore, has never met Lee and will be the second No. 1 ranked opponent for Lee this season. Lee moved up to the second spot in the rankings after beating then No. 1 Luke Eustice of Iowa in December.
