The Waikiki Community Center's annual Ala Wai Challenge attracted dancers, athletes and onlookers yesterday to Ala Wai Field. The event was dedicated to Henry Ayau, a paddler and coach for the Outrigger Canoe Club who died last year. A large portrait of him was unveiled during the opening ceremonies. Ayau's mother, Mabel, sat next to the painting.
