Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work areas and to allow for extra travel time.
Lane closures continue on the Likelike Highway tomorrow through Friday.
One lane will be closed in the Honolulu-bound direction from the vicinity of Valley View Drive to the pedestrian overpass at Kula Kolea Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for construction of retaining walls.
One lane will be closed in the Kaneohe-bound direction from the vicinity of Nalanieha Street to Valley View Drive from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for slope stabilization work, and one lane will be closed in both the Honolulu-bound and Kaneohe-bound directions between the vicinity of Valley View Drive to Burmeister Overpass from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for median work.
In Aina Haina, one lane in either direction of Kalanianaole Highway will be closed between the H-1 Freeway and West Hind Drive tomorrow through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement striping and guardrail installation work.
Resurfacing work on Kamehameha Highway between Waiahole Valley Road to Crouching Lion Inn also is underway.
During the project, one lane of traffic in either direction will be closed and contra-flowed on Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Work includes resurfacing the existing pavement; extending the shoulder; constructing retaining walls, signs, guardrails, pavement markings, pedestrian walkways and accessible routes for bridges; extending culverts; relocating signs and mailboxes; and installing street lights and underground electrical lines and boxes.
The contractor for the $9.3 million project is Jas. W. Glover, Ltd.
Work also begins tomorrow on the Moanalua Freeway for a lighting improvement project. One lane may be closed along Kamehameha Highway and the Moanalua Freeway in the Honolulu-bound direction between McGrew Loop and Aloha Stadium Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kauai motorists should know that work is scheduled to begin tomorrow on intersection improvements on Kuhio Highway at South Leho Drive.
Work includes widening the roadway; constructing left-turn storage lanes; realigning the existing cane haul road; removing existing guardrails and concrete curbs; installing new guardrails, concrete curbs, traffic signs and pavement markings; and relocating existing street lights.
During this project, one lane of traffic may be closed on Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The contractor for this $788,000 project is Koga Engineering & Construction, Inc.
