"The Electric Kitchen" airing in the first half of January features Chang Bong Choi of Enchanted Lake Kim Chee with recipes celebrating the Korean centennial.

"Electric Kitchen" airs at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, 8 p.m. Monday, 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Oceanic Cable Channel 16.

Kalbi

3 pounds short ribs, trimmed of fat
>> Marinade:
1 cup soy sauce
2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons EACH grated or puréed garlic, onion and papaya
1 teaspoon pepper
1 stalk green onion, chopped

Combine marinade ingredients. Marinate ribs and refrigerate 1 day. Broil or grill ribs on both sides to desired doneness. Serves 6.
