BRAVO, LUIS, BRAVO!: Promotor Tom Moffatt, left, and local tango dancer Mariko Lyons, congratulated Luis Bravo, creator/director of "Forever Tango," at the VIP reception that followed Thursday's opening night performance at the Hawaii Theatre. Lyons has studied Argentine tango for several years and said she was impressed by the dancers' precision and speed.

ICE CREAM TIME: Cast members Marcelo Bernadaz and Veronica Gardella shared some ice cream with their bashful daughter, Camila. The duo was an instant audience favorite with their fast and intricate work in two comic tangos.

ALOHA CARLOS: Local tango instructor George Garcia, right, and his dance partner, K'ai Roberts, renewed their friendship with "Forever Tango" star Carlos Gavito. Gavito, who was first among equals when the show played here in 2000, dominated the stage this time too. He and his partner, Marcela Duran, capped a great show with their final solo tango, "Evaristo Carriego."
