>> The Lutheran Church of Honolulu, at 1730 Punahou St., will present Bach's Christmas Oratorio Part IV, "Fallt mit Danken, fallt mit Loben," at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Carl Crosier will conduct the Bach Chamber Orchestra and the church choir. Soloists will include sopranos Georgine Stark and Vicki Gorman, tenor Kalani Brady and bass Leslie Tennent.
The church will celebrate the 12th Day of Christmas or Epiphany with a 7:30 p.m. concert Jan. 5. Bach's Christmas Oratorio Part V, "Ehre sei dir, Gott, gesungen," and the "Magnificat" by Charles Pachelbel will be sung at the German vespers service. Soloists will be Stark, Gorman, Tennent and tenor Les Ceballos.
The performances are open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken.
>> St. Andrew's Cathedral will present guest musician James Warren in a Jan. 5 organ recital and choral evensong. The organist, who has spent 35 years in the music ministry of several churches, will perform music by Bach, Brahms, Durufle, Martin, Pachelbel and others. The cathedral choir directed by Arlan Sunnarborg will also participate in the 7:30 p.m. service in the cathedral Queen Emma Square. It is open to the public; a calabash offering will be taken.
