Christmas is Customer service is the bottom line at GBC Boxes and Packaging. We do a lot of gift wrapping. We can also pack and ship for mailing. I'm the manager at one of our locations, a licensed business in Sears Ala Moana, and we've been here about 20 years. I've been here about 15 years.

Jocelyn Dacquel is the manager at
GBC gift wrap at Sears Ala MoanaWe also have locations at Royal Hawaiian Center on the third floor, Ward Warehouse on the second floor, Pearlridge right next to Macy's and our main location is in Salt Lake behind, well, formerly known as Costco. Windward Mall is a franchise with a separate owner, but they run their business just like we do.
We also run contract post offices at Ward Warehouse and Pearlridge. It's convenient because the lines at the post office are long. You can bring your items in and we'll do everything to get them wrapped and shipped out. We don't have a post office in this location, but we can perform the same service.
I was working at Liberty Hosue when I got started. A friend called to ask if I wanted some extra work and I said sure. That's how I got in to GBC and never left.
I have a lot of regular customers I know by name. They are so nice. They come back with gifts for us for helping them out.
It's a fun place to work. I do some of the ordering and buying products and it's fun to spend money for the company. We sell party favors, packing supplies, gift bags. You name it, I think we've just about got it.
I have no life at Christmas. It's crazy, here until closing seven days a week. This is my life. But I enjoy it. It gets the adrenaline flowing. It starts off in October and goes thorough Christmas. Then it gets slower again.
I don't wrap my own Christmas presents. We don't have time to wrap our own gifts. I'm lucky if I even get to go shopping during the holidays. After Christmas sales, that's when I shop. We buy the packages we sell and put everything in gift bags.
I have great customers and a great staff. You can't ask for more than that. The company has been around for 30 years and we're hoping for another good 30 years and then some.
