Among those turning out to run the 30th Honolulu Marathon Sunday will be His Highness, Pieter-Christiaan Michiel, prince of Orange-Nassau, the Netherlands.

The bachelor prince, who ran in the New York City Marathon in 1999, 2000 and 2001 and in the London Marathon in 2001, will be the first European royal to participate in the Honolulu Marathon.

A member of the royal house and in the line of succession, Michiel is the son of Princess Margriet and nephew of Queen Beatrix.

The prince will pay a call on Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson and attend Wilson's concert tomorrow at the Waikiki Shell.
