The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Ceatech USA Inc., the worst performer this year in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index, turned the tables this week as its stock jumped 73.3 percent to outpace 11 other companies. The Kauai shrimp producer, which is still down nearly 63 percent in 2002, achieved all its gain yesterday as it rose 11 cents to 26 cents. Ceatech finds its legs
City Bank parent CB Bancshares Inc. and Bank of Hawaii Corp. both hit 52-week highs this week. CB Bancshares rose 2.2 percent to close yesterday at a one-year high of $41.30 while Bank of Hawaii, which rose .59 percent, hit its 52-week high of $30.56 Wednesday before closing yesterday at $30.48.
