There's no snow in sight, but that didn't stop Ala Moana Center from setting up its warmly clad Santa yesterday, a clear indication of the onrushing holiday season. The 30-foot Claus faces Ala Moana Beach Park on the makai side of the mall.

St. Andrews Priory's second-graders celebrated an early Thanksgiving with an African festival yesterday. The second-graders just finished their African studies and parlayed their new knowledge into a day of entertainment for their parents and students from kindergarten through fourth grade. The students staged a play with costumes they created and cooked up peanut butter soup, couscous salad and a banana dessert. From left, Lauren Fujimoto, Ellie Miyashiro and Joie Wakabayashi prepared to get on stage to perform "Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock."
