The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Cyanotech Corp., the second-worst performer in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index this year, enjoyed a moment in the sun this week at it rose 6.4 percent to 50 cents to outpace 11 other Hawaii companies. Cyanotech gets bump
CB Bancshares Inc., which declared an 11 cents-a-share, fourth-quarter dividend, was next with a 2.6 percent gain to a 52-week high of $40.40.
The worst performer was Ceatech USA Inc., which dropped 34.8 percent to an all-time low of 15 cents. The company, which has been struggling financially, has been seeking outside funding.
