The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Cyanotech gets bump

Cyanotech Corp., the second-worst performer in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index this year, enjoyed a moment in the sun this week at it rose 6.4 percent to 50 cents to outpace 11 other Hawaii companies.

CB Bancshares Inc., which declared an 11 cents-a-share, fourth-quarter dividend, was next with a 2.6 percent gain to a 52-week high of $40.40.

The worst performer was Ceatech USA Inc., which dropped 34.8 percent to an all-time low of 15 cents. The company, which has been struggling financially, has been seeking outside funding.
