Eubank, Wie win
Hawaii State Open


Florida's Tom Eubank shot a 73 yesterday and won the 2002 Hawaii State Open with a three-day total of 209. Eubank's round of 67 on Saturday gave him a four-stroke lead over Chad Fribley.

Eubank finished the event 7-under par while Fribley ended two strokes back.

In the Senior division, Dan Nishimoto and Dean Prince tied with a three-day score of 219.

Michelle Wie seized the women's title with a three-day 208, 13 strokes better than Cindy Rarick, who finished in second place.

'Golf Classic' added to Pro Bowl festivities

The National Football League has added the Pro Bowl NFL Charities Golf Classic to the list of festivities that surround its annual all-star game.

The tournament is set for Monday, Feb. 3, at the Waialae Country Club. It will be a team scramble event pairing amateur golfers with celebrity captains that will include Pro Football Hall of Fame members, Pro Bowl and other NFL players.

UH baseball camps set for Christmas break

The Hawaii baseball program and UH coach Mike Trapasso will hold two youth instructional camps over Christmas break, Dec. 26-27 and Dec. 28-29.

The first camp will be for pitchers and catchers and the second camp will be for hitters.

Both camps will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Les Murakami Stadium, directed by Trapasso and his staff with the assistance of UH players and local high school coaches.
