‘Custard’ event
benefits kids

FROZEN custard flowed freely yesterday in Kaimuki to benefit a neighborhood elementary school. Eddie's Burgers & Frozen Custard sponsored the "Custard For Keiki" event at its Waialae Avenue restaurant by offering two scoops of its popular, creamy concoction in exchange for donations to Liholiho Elementary School.

Liholiho Elementary alumnus Ryan Tang provided entertainment, along with current students who sang, danced, played ukulele and performed hula for those in attendance. Money raised during "Custard for Keiki" will be used for drama, technology and water-safety activities and the JPO program at the school ...

THREE LOCAL NIGHTSPOTS are set to take part in E! Entertainment's "Wild on Hawaii" television tapings tonight and tomorrow on Oahu. The cable network returns for another romp in paradise with a new host: The lovely Brooke Burke was recently replaced with Cindy Taylor, who had to beat out thousands of other wannabes to snag her new gig.

Taylor and the rest of the "Wild On" crew will start off at Zanzabar tonight around 10 p.m. before heading on to the Ocean Club at midnight. And tomorrow at Scruples Beach Club in Waikiki, there will be a bikini contest hosted by Taylor, starting at 10:30 p.m. Hawaii residents will also recognize a few guest hosts on the program when it airs on E! next month: KHNL's Cindy Paliracio will be part of the filming along with current Miss Hawaii Teen USA Erin Madden and local models Jennifer Abreu, Sondra Barker and Juliet Lighter ...

While I'm happy at not having to wait another 10 years to see the likes of Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam and Trish Stratus live in the ring, haven't Hawaii fans proved that we deserve a live Monday night taping instead of a house show? ...

AND ON FRIDAY the guys from Kalapana take part in the "Hana Hou Hawaiian Music Series" at Hawaii Theatre. Malani Bilyeu, Gaylord Holomalia, D.J. Pratt and Kenji Sano will play some of their most popular songs, starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30; call 528-0506. ...
