Jeremy Winters and Andrew Maixner finished second and third in the boys race to lead Radford to its 12th OIA championship and first since 1998.
Mililani used its depth to claim the girls championship as all five of the Trojans' scoring runners finished in the top 14. Mililani last won the girls team title in 1996.
Kahuku's Ryan Orme won the 3-mile boys race with a time of 16 minutes and 31.5 seconds, finishing 10 seconds ahead of Winters. Maixner came in third at 17:04.3.
As a team, Radford finished with 45 points. Aiea was a distant second with 71 points.
McKinley's Sheena Thain finished first in the 2-mile girls race with a time of 12:12.1. Kari Tanimoto of Pearl City was second at 12:33.8.
Deanne Soon was Mililani's top finisher, placing sixth with a time of 13:02.8. Sara Mitman came in right behind Soon at 13:06.1.
The Trojans also got strong performances from Christina Korodan (11th), Rachel McClay (13th) and Megan Kanda (14th) to finish with 49 total points. Pearl City was second with 66 points.
Kamehameha, Iolani claim ILH titles: Kamehameha's J.B. Bolson and Iolani's Nicole Anderson led their teams to the Interscholastic League of Honolulu cross country championships yesterday at the Kamehameha Schools campus.
Bolson won the 3-mile varsity boys race in 16:52 as Kamehameha finished atop the team standings with 46 points. Punahou came in second with 49 points.
"I have no idea (how we won) because we had a lot of things go wrong," Kamehameha boys coach Steve Jenness said. "We had Sam (Wescoatt) not finish and we had a disqualification also, so we were basically left with just five guys. Usually losing one guy will just kill you, and when I heard we lost two I figured we lost. I was surprised to see that we still hung on and won.
"We tend to run well up here (at Kamehameha)."
Anderson won the 2-mile girls race with a time of 11:43 as the Raiders placed four runners in the top seven to run away with the league title with 29 points. Punahou finished second with 39 points.
"I don't think we were really expecting to win," Anderson said. "To me, it was kind of a surprise."
Kamehameha and Iolani will try to defend their state championships at the Honolulu Marathon/Hawaii High School Athletic Association state cross country championships Friday at Central Oahu Regional Park.
